Sourcing dates for Ramadan: five checks for importers

Dates are the first order of many importers before Ramadan. Check the variety and the grade, the moisture level, the packing date and the shelf life. Ask for the Halal certificate and the harvest lot number, because customs in several countries ask for both. Order sea freight at least six weeks before the season, and keep a small stock for air freight if a shipment is late. Compare at least three quotations, and always ask for a sample box before the first container.
